  1. Hi Daves Auto and rust.....welcome to the Club Nice collection of tools...you can never have too many tools 🙂 Good to have you onboard
  2. Hi....welcome to the Forum I would go to a Locksmiths to see if they can programme a new key for the car....probably cost no more than 100 dollars but you would need the original key code for them to replicate the blade to unlock the door and ignition. Otherwise, a mobile Locksmith should be able programme a handset to the car directly Keep us updated
  3. Great information and thanks for sharing it with us
  4. Hi Doug....welcome to the Forum Seems a convoluted way to pair your phone to the car. Have you tried contacting your local Apple retailer and seeing if they have any ideas...you never know, it could be something simple such as a particular setting on the phone?
  5. Hi....welcome to the Forum '69 Corona....wow! haven't seen one of those around in a very long time....got any pics of it?
  6. pbc95124toyota . Thanks for posting up the video....very useful and cost saving exercise
  7. Anything is possible but is sometimes just a case of money....but I would love to know if it is easily achieved...anyone done this before ?
  8. Bahnbomb . Did you manage to locate the replacement muffler yet? If so, would love to know how it worked out and what it looks like
  9. Not sure if there may not be a setup procedure to stabilise the idle speed after replacing the main battery. Worth carrying out a search in the forums for this. If not, then worth cleaning out the throttle body as any carbon build-up could affect the idle speed
  10. Not sure about the reprogramming but i would be more interested in why the fuse blew and does this have any relationship to the other components not working?
  11. I believe it would be worth refurbishing but you could take this opportunity to modify and lighten the frame during this time and add extra strength to vital areas.....kill two birds with one stone so to speak!
  12. Brake Fluid....will be DOT4 specification
  13. I would personally look at replacing the spark plugs as you have already replaced the coil packs. Make sure you gap the plugs perfectly beforehand and ensure they are not overtightened when refitting, this will give a longer life to the coil packs in the future.
  14. Thanks very much for posting up this useful guide and diagram, superb job!
  15. The sensor will only be feeding back on how much the wheel is turned (turn angle) but if the car is steering straight and there are no warning lamps displayed then it should not be an issue.
  16. I personally think the Rav4 is a much better looking car but then it comes down to personal tastes and whether you need a compact SUV or a more conventional saloon. Mechanically, they would be virtually the same vehicle utilising similar floorpan and drivetrain on both. For me though, it would come down to cost....not sure though which is cheaper once you bolt on all the options?
  17. I wonder if this has anything to do with the other problem you posted....about 'L' appearing on the dash?
  18. Could be Low Gear as in losing traction and selecting Low automatically
  19. Hi....welcome to the Forum At that sort of mileage, unless you have a complete service history stating that certain maintenance tasks have been carried out If there is no proof of work being carried out then I would assume it would need doing as a matter of course.
  20. Hi .... welcome to the Forum That sounds like you got a great deal there! The first issue of stumbling revs is usually carbon build up in the throttle housing area....if you can remove and clean it will pickup revs as normal afterwards. Radio removal usually requires special tools to take out from the dash but very cheap (see link below) https://www.ebay.com/itm/4Pcs-Car-Radio-Stereo-Removal-Release-Tool-Key-8cm-For-Ford-Audi-VW-Volkswagen/133096137882?fits=Model%3AMatrix|Make%3AToyota&epid=27007474492&hash=item1efd25e49a:g:D4gAAOSwoxVdEIKb Power steering is usually a case of putting a drain tray below one of the unions to the steering rack or pump and releasing the union to allow it to drain from the lowest point possible....preferably with the engine not running as this would damage the hydraulic components. Refill with new fluid and then start the engine, turn the steering lock to lock and keep topping up until all air is expelled from the reservoir and is at the correct level. Recheck periodically to ensure it hasn't dropped down on the level or there are any leaks. TPMS - I would inflate all the tyres a couple of PSI one at a time to see which one is likely to be the culprit.....2 psi of pressure would not overly affect handling or wear in the short term but can be enough to extinguish the warning lamp. Ensure that you check tyre pressures using a reliable digital or analogue pressure gauge and when the tyres are cold. The sunroof....best bet is to replace it as the rust won't get any better 🙂 Good to have you onboard and keep us updated on the progress with the Matrix Cheers, Trevor
  21. Here is the data specs for a 2017 Prius battery: Battery and Charging Battery Capacity 8.8 kWh Port Location Right Side - Rear Charge Port Type 2 Charge Power 3.7 kW AC Charge Time (0->25 mi) 2h15m Charge Speed 11 mph Battery Useable* 7.0 kWh
  22. Thanks for the video with the fix....very useful information
  23. Hi....welcome to the Forum There are some options here of aftermarket rather than OEM systems which offer way more than the standard system https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=2012+toyota+highlander+satnav+entertainment+system&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=2012+toyota+highlander+entertainment+system
