  1. Hi....welcome to the Club Sounds like a good deal to me 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
  2. Great news! thanks for the feedback
  3. ???? All 2005+ Toyota Tacoma now use a Timing Chain and should last you 200K miles with normal driving, so don't worry about it. If it is earlier than 2005 and has a cambelt then 60000 miles / 5 years would be the right time to replace it and the waterpump at the same time.
  4. Hi Eric.....welcome to the Club May be worth a search through this forum and also the Australian Toyota Owners Club forums as they are hot on doing this sort of modifications. Good to have you onboard
  5. Have you checked for any independent fuse for the High Beam? Also, it is not unusual for both bulbs to have blown at the same time, worth checking before going too much further into wiring, etc
  6. Hi Susan Sorry to hear that the engine is terminal. There are two options here: 1. replace engine and try to find an alternative one that may have come from another model (Corolla, etc) 2. rebuild the existing one but this may be quite expensive depending on what items have seized. Generally, if the oil is run low then the top end of the engine is always usually the first point to suffer so it may only be a seized camshaft. I think it may be wise to strip off the top of the engine and see what has occurred before committing to spending huge amounts of money on another engine
  7. Hi Scott......welcome to the Club Getting to be a rare car now.....post up some pics of it if you want? Good to have you onboard!
  8. Hi....welcome to the Club The problem (generally) with fitting additional parts and accessories is that they may fit and the loom may also be in place but the components will need to be coded into the vehicle so that the CanBus system knows its there to then be able to activate it. With a lot of your other questions it may be worth looking at the Prius section in our UK site. www.toyotaownersclub.com as there is plenty of information in there
  9. Hi....welcome to the Club A couple of things spring to mind......you didn't mention replacing the Coolant Temperature Sensor as this could be a major contributor to not delivering the correct resistance to the ECU which in turn will not fuel the engine correctly. Also, worth checking the fuel filter and housing as a poor seal will allow air to be drawn in and affect the flow to the high pressure pump.
  10. Wow! that's a great mileage, didn't know won't record any more miles after 300k.....maybe they thought the cars wouldn't achieve that milestone?
  11. That sounds about right .... just try to introduce it wherever there are moving parts and you can't go wrong. Moly Grease is 'sticky' enough to bond to most surface areas
  12. It is an idea to introduce as much lube into the areas that are contacting and of the correct viscosity to ensure it stays in place. I would just use a sturdy cable tie as there is no real pressure inside the gaiter and also it sits in a groove so shouldn't go anywhere once zipped up.
  13. Maybe eBay is not a bad place to try and also you'll get some idea of how much people are looking to pay for it
  14. Hi Brian.....welcome to the Club Relica :-) Respectable mileage on the old girl Certainly a great (and reliable) Toyota Good to have you onboard!
  15. Hi....welcome to the Club It does sound very much like a key issue. Unless its got a turbo-timer or remote starting then it is more than likely a problem with the electronics/immobilizer system. Worth dropping it into the dealership as it is under warranty and could/should be subject to a recall
  16. That does sound quite terminal, that's a lot of oil being consumed. Still think complete bottom-end rebuild may be an option though (rebore, pistons, etc)
  17. Whats the issue with the engine and would it be easier or cheaper to rebuild it?
  18. I would say at first glance that its a vacuum leak on the inlet manifold side of the engine. Any component that has a vacuum hose or is somehow linked to the inlet manifold needs to be checked and even spray some brake cleaner near the areas to see if it is drawn in and burnt in combustion which will raise the revs momentarily. Other methods (safer ones!) would be smoke generator to see where any smoke is coming from within the engine. Also, an exhaust gas analysis will show an excessive oxygen content (should be 0%)
  19. Am hearing this is an issue, i do wonder if they will release a software update. Worth talking to your local dealership in the near future to see if this is going to be the case
  20. Hi.....welcome to the Forum 330k miles is a superb achievement and I always say 'it wouldn't have got there if it wasn't any good' Superb testament to Toyota as a brand
  21. I'm not sure of the ride height & rebound length though
