  1. The Japanese version is only mildly different from the US version...depending on model year, it's typically only optional equipment that is available on one or the other. The engine will be almost exactly the same.
  2. Do you mean when restarting when the car is already warm?
  3. Start with the switch...with luck, it's something cheap like a fuse or a wire...
  4. Welcome!! Thanks for joining TOC USA! I believe there were over 400,000 1998 Camrys sold in the US, so parts should definitely be plentiful!
  5. Welcome!! You will LOVE your new car...VERY reliable. It'll convert you to Toyota from Chevy! :)
  6. I think you can have it installed for a couple hundred bucks...it won't be as pretty as a factory install, but it might be cheaper.

    code po135

You may to manually turn off the light if you already fixed the problem...
  8. That was smart on their part. You shouldn't drive it until they find out the problem. It's probably too soon for arbitration if they don't have a diagnosis. Or has a technician thoroughly checked it out?
  9. You should get a second opinion at a Toyota dealer. As I recall, there was a TSB on a lot of those Camrys for struts.
  10. Scary stuff... I know the mats have caused an issue because they stick under the pedal...what are the facts about why you know it wasn't the mats? They weren't anywhere near the pedal?
  11. I don't remember hearing anything about 2008s generally having bad transmissions. What did they say? Was it just yours, or are there more of them?
  12. So it sounds like at least the service department isn't bad...probably, the worst is behind you. Did you trying calling the corporate office yet?
  13. Welcome! Great photo...thanks for the post! With proper care, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't have that car for 10-20 years.
  14. Are you looking for the container that holds the washer fluid before it goes on your windshield? That's the windshield washer fluid reservoir.
  15. And the noise comes from under the hood?
  16. Did you try parts.com, eBay, etc? You'll have to pay for shipping though...
  17. I think it's on the right side of the fireline...
  18. Did you try locking and unlocking it with the other remote yet?
  19. Tough to tell from your description...exhaust leak somewhere maybe?

    CD player

It has nothing to do with your radio, and everything to do with either the CD encoding if you're playing a CD, or if you have radio stations in your area transmitting a feed. Some new CDs will have song titles, etc., and some radio stations will transmit call letters, song titles, messages like "Listen to the morning show on Sunny 100.whatever", etc. Your car is fine, it's the media you're using.
