  1. http://alldata.com/TSB/035919_en.html You can print off a list of TSBs here, but I think you need a subscription to read all the details. Good luck!!
  2. It's possible that you wouldn't feel it. I talked to a guy the other day that had two bent rims on his ES330, and never knew. Of course, he could be just oblivious to anything his car was doing....
  3. It's the opposite in my world...this is the time of year that would be perfect for a few days off. It's typically 50-60 during the day, and very pleasant. Summer here is basically the equivalent of your winter...we don't go outside for 3 months or so. Good luck, and have fun with your son...and try not get too cold!!

Sorry...not ignoring the question, just don't have an answer of any value... I've never torn out the cupholders...I value my morning coffee far too much to ever jeopardize a cupholder...
  5. Not all of the parts on a Toyota are actually made by Toyota...that part number may very well be the supplier company's part number.
  6. Bummer on the locks...I did spend quite a bit of time looking around today, but couldn't find much. New nav discs come out once a year or so, so maybe the upgrade will have your house! One thing to consider if you're worried about security: programming your house into your Home "speed dial" is an incredibly easy way to send a car thief right to your home address.
  7. Okay, this is for a Sequoia, but it should at least get you headed in the right direction: http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/sequ...y-exit-locks-5/ You could also try asking the dealer about CBEST. I'm not POSITIVE your Prius has it, but it seems odd that it wouldn't. Camrys, Avalons, Solaras, etc. have it.
  8. That's probably as good as it gets on the headlamps...but fortunately, it's easy and you don't have to think about turning them off/on. Navigation: yeah, it's all when Navteq gets your road mapped. You can request an update here: http://mapreporter.navteq.com/dur-web-exte...amp;language=en With luck, the next map DVD could have your road. I've found that some of the data can be a little sketchy in subdivisions, private roads, so that's why I asked. As for the locks: I'm shocked that you can't program your locks. Most of the mid-high end Toyotas have had that programming available (but not publicized) for about the last 10 years. Did you ask your dealer? Let me do a little research on that...it's called CBEST.
  9. Could be the same as the Solara TSB (basically the same car, after all). Check your rims to make sure there's not a small bend in one.
  10. A couple questions: 1.) If you have the headlights on, and you turn off the car and open the driver's door, do your lights turn off? 2.) Do you live on a private road? 3.) By "auto door locks", do you mean the ones that lock when you turn the car on or when you shift into drive?
  11. You could order one from Toyota...about a week, probably. If you want just the maintenance guide, you can get that off Toyota.com.
  12. You may need a tune-up...basically a 60k service if you have the manual.
  13. I have no idea where you'd find that...
  14. Looks good...I like the lights.
  15. Yes, and better than the Saturn VUE, the Chevy I-forget-what-the-small-SUV-is-called, the Ford Edge, etc. Much nicer looking, and it'll be far, far more reliable.
  16. Welcome!! How many miles are on your car? Some things you'll need to do: first, make sure all your maintenances are up to date. Then start on all the fun stuff like stereos, wheels, etc.
  17. FYI... Lexus LF-A Takes on Roadster Form – An Open Version of the Supercar Concept Revealed Related Media 01/13/2008 January 13, 2008 - Detroit, MI - The engineers and designers at Lexus continue to use their groundbreaking LF-A premium sports car concept as a medium for expressing their ideas about what a high-performance sporting vehicle not only can be, but should be. In this latest expression of the LF-A, they have removed the car's top to create a high-performance roadster. The LF-A Roadster is based on the sturdy yet lightweight carbon-fiber and aluminum body used for the LF-A coupe, which helps maintain the structure's strength and rigidity even without a top. Like its coupe counterpart, the LF-A Roadster is powered by a high-revving V10 engine that approaches 5.0 liters in displacement. The V10, capable of more than 500 horsepower and test-track speeds greater than 200 mph, is mounted in front of the passenger compartment but behind the front-axle centerline in what the LF-A's engineers refer to as a "front-mid" configuration. The engine is connected via a torque tube and propeller shaft to a transaxle that is controlled by paddle shifters. The torque tube is a structural member that adds rigidity to the drivetrain and chassis while also reducing vibration. Styling is rooted in the Lexus L-Finesse design philosophy, conferring the LF-A Roadster's front end with a compact, low-profile, aerodynamic shape. Like its coupe counterpart, the LF-A Roadster stands just 48 inches tall, but the Roadster configuration adds a speed adaptive rear wing. The rear is marked by a pair of wrap-around, arrowhead-shaped taillights that bracket a pair of large grilles. These grilles vent the heated air from the car's two rear-mounted radiators into the LF-A Roadster's aerodynamic wake. The radiators are fed cool air by two large intake ducts mounted just above the rear wheel wells. This aft radiator positioning not only allowed the designers to keep the car's front profile low and tight but also aided the LF-A's chassis engineers in their search for optimal weight distribution. Helping to provide balance and scale to the design, which features an overall length of 175.6 inches and a wheelbase of 102.6 inches, are high-performance tires on turbine-styled alloy wheels. The front tires are 265/35R20s, while the rears are 305/30R20s. Like the LF-A coupe, the brakes consist of 14.2-inch cross-drilled, vented discs up front, and 13.6-inch cross-drilled, vented discs at the rear. The front brake calipers are six-piston units and the rear calipers use four pistons each. An "F" logo, located on each front fender of the Roadster, indicates the vehicle's status as a part of the new "F" marque. The name is derived from the original "F" designation for the first Lexus LS prototype. That vehicle was internally coded "Circle-F," with the "F" standing for "flagship." The Circle-F designation further evolved into the code name Flagship One, or F1, and the first F1 concept developed into Lexus' first vehicle, the LS. Since then, the "F" code has come to signify a special vehicle program within Lexus that falls outside the normal engineering and development process. In addition, Fuji Speedway is the IS F's home circuit, and the shape of the F-logo was inspired by many of the track's turns. The all-new Lexus IS F sport sedan is the first production vehicle to carry the F marque. Lexus LF-A Roadster Concept Preliminary Specifications Body Type: Two seat roadster Powertrain Type: Front-mid-engine, rear-mid-transaxle Engine: V10 (under 5.0-liters) Transmission: SMT (sequential manual transmission) Horsepower: More than 500 Top Speed: More than 200 mph Tire Size Front: 265/35R20 Rear: 305/30R20 Dimensions (inches) Overall Length: 175.6 Overall Width: 74.6 Overall Height: 48.0 Wheelbase: 102.6
  18. This one looks like a sure winner...the new Toyota Venza Toyota Stages World Debut Of All-New Venza At 2008 North American International Auto Show Related Media 01/14/2008 January 14, 2008 – Detroit, MI - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., unveiled the all-new 2009 Venza crossover sedan at a press conference here today at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Venza will raise the crossover vehicle to new levels by combining a unique blend of sedan refinement and sport utility vehicle (SUV) functionality. "The all-new Venza was developed as a vehicle that combines the styling, comfort and fun-to-drive performance elements of a five-passenger sedan with the surprising utility of an SUV," said Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager. "This winning combination will be ideal for active 'boomers' and young couples with small families." All aspects of Venza's engineering and design were targeted specifically for the North American market where it will be sold exclusively. Venza was primarily engineered at Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., and designed at Toyota's Calty design studios in Newport Beach, Calif. and Ann Arbor, Mich. Venza will be assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK), in Georgetown, Ky. The development focus of the Venza design team was to create a new crossover vehicle that shifted away from the more traditional SUV styling themes that tend to dominate the segment. Calty designers leaned more heavily on a sleek sedan concept with a wide stance that featured a sporty exterior and premium comfort interior but would also be equipped with important SUV attributes such as cargo space, towing capability and all-wheel-drive performance. The exterior design of the four-door Venza begins with an imposing front end featuring a distinctive grille, headlights and fog lamps for an aggressive, yet classy appearance. The front conforms to a sleek and aerodynamic shape with short overhangs, crisp character lines and a roofline and ground clearance that are lower than a typical crossover. From behind, Venza's refined appearance is complete with an angled rear hatch, rear spoiler and wide wraparound tail lights that interconnect with the hatch door. On the inside, Calty designers and TTC engineers made comfort, refinement and utility a priority for the five-passenger Venza. A lower rocker design will allow occupants to more easily step in and out of the vehicle than a typical sedan. Venza will also feature a higher ride height and hip points that will help provide significantly better driver visibility than most sedans and easier ingress and egress than most SUVs. Venza will feature a spacious interior providing ample room for all five passengers and abundant SUV-like cargo space behind the second row of seats. The rear hatch provides a low cargo height that allows for easy loading and unloading of luggage and outdoor gear. Easy-to-use levers, one on each side of the rear cargo area, allow the 60/40 split rear seats to fold flat, providing additional storage space for extra long items such as surf boards, skis, camping gear and gardening equipment. For added passenger comfort, the rear seats recline up to 14 degrees. A creative interior design complemented with an array of comfort and convenience features provides Venza with a refined look and feel that is commonly reserved for a luxury sedan. The flow of the instrumentation panel (IP) creates a unique 60/60 design that gives both driver and front passenger the look and feeling that 60 percent of the IP is accessible from their seating position. An extra long center console extends from the IP and slopes down to a center compartment with a unique sliding console cover. Sliding open the compartment lid reveals a large storage well deep enough to hold a large purse. The compartment is also illuminated and equipped with an auxiliary audio jack and 12-volt power point. The upper portion of the center console houses the gear-shift lever for easy and comfortable driver access. Climate control functions are centrally located on the upper center console, providing easy accessibility for both driver and passenger. The center console also contains an iPod/MP3 storage compartment with wire management and illuminated dual cupholders. All Venza models will be equipped with an array of standard features including auto dual zone air conditioning, AM/FM six-disc CD, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, remote keyless entry, electrochromic rearview mirror with compass, a multi-information display, cruise control, optitron gauges, rear wiper, privacy glass, and much more. On V6 models Venza will come standard with dual exhaust tips and will be the first Toyota model to ride on standard 20-inch alloy wheels. Four-cylinder models will come standard with 19-inch alloy wheels. Chrome accents throughout give Venza a refined look and feel. Models equipped with an optional leather-trimmed interior will feature wood-grain-type trim and seats stitched with dark piping that is tastefully coordinated with Venza's standard linear grain dashboard and steering wheel. An array of storage space will be available throughout the vehicle to accommodate passenger belongings. A large storage compartment with an additional 12-volt power point located on the passenger side of the front center console will be sizeable enough to contain maps and magazines. A panoramic roof will be offered as an option and will be a first for the Toyota vehicle lineup. The roof will feature separate glass panels over the front and rear seats. The front glass panel will have a power tilt/slide function. Venza will also offer an Automatic High Beam headlight system, another Toyota first. When high beam headlights are in use sensors in the Automatic High Beam system will detect oncoming traffic and automatically switch the headlights to low-beam. When the Automatic High Beam sensors no longer detect oncoming traffic the system will switch the headlights back to high-beam mode. Additional optional equipment will include a navigation system equipped with a JBL audio system, integrated satellite radio capability and Bluetooth® technology; a premium JBL audio system with AM/FM six-disc CD changer, satellite radio capability and Bluetooth®, rear seat entertainment system, a Smart Key System, back-up camera and a power rear door. The sleek and sporty styling, refined interior and outstanding utility features are complemented with fun-to-drive performance attributes expected by owners with active lifestyles. Aggressive handling typically found in a performance coupe is well-balanced by the on-road comfort of an upscale sedan. Venza will be available in front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. It will provide drivers and passengers the best of both worlds by delivering the quiet comfortable ride expected from a full-size sedan along with the peace-of-mind that comes with all-wheel-drive. Power will be generated by an available 3.5-liter V6 that will produce 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 246 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm with a towing capability of 3,500 pounds. Standard power will come from an all-new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that will deliver capable performance and provide excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions. Both engines will be mated with a six-speed sequential-shift electronically-controlled automatic transmission. Venza will be equipped with a comprehensive list of standard safety features. It will provide a total of seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, front seat-mounted side airbags, and side curtain airbags for both rows of seats. Venza will also be the first sedan with Toyota's STAR safety system, featuring anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and vehicle stability control. Venza will also feature active head rests as standard equipment. "Venza will establish an exciting new crossover niche that will combine the finest attributes of Toyota's diverse vehicle lineup," said Carter. "It will cater to buyers who are looking for the value and reliability of a Camry, the comfort and upscale refinement of an Avalon, and the utility and functionality of a Highlander SUV in one very stylish and sporty package." "When it goes on sale in late 2008, the Venza crossover sedan will represent Toyota's latest commitment to driving change in the marketplace." 2009 VENZA PRELIMINARY SPECIFICATIONS POWERTRAIN 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine Horsepower: TBD Torque: TBD Six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission 3.5-liter V6 Horsepower: 268 @ 6,200 Torque: 246 lb.-ft. @ 4,700 rpm Six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission Drive System: Front- and All-Wheel-Drive DIMENSIONS (inches) Overall Length: 189.0 Overall Width: 75.0 Overall Height: 63.4 Wheelbase: 109.3 Ground clearance: 8.1 Wheels: 19-inch alloy wheels (four-cylinder only) 20-inch alloy wheels (standard on V6 and available on four-cylinder) Tire Size: 20-inch: 245/50R20 19-inch: 245/55R19 Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs. 19. Doesn't it become exempt as a classic car at some point? It's 30 years old...should be soon, I would think.
  20. That's one of Toyota's recommended phones...you shouldn't be having those issues. Some thoughts: 1.) Do you have the bluetooth on the phone always switched on? 2.) Do you have the "autoconnect" setting on the car switched on? 3.) Have you checked a different phone to see if it's the phone or the car with a problem?

    Supra

I know...it's very sad. I understand why they're leaving the I-6 behind: it's too inefficient, and has lousy gas mileage and emissions for today's standards...valid reasons, but still sad. The 2JZ is still my favorite engine, but maybe the new 4.6 liter could be super/turbo charged. The new 3.5 liter in naturally aspirated form is over 300hp...a little forced induction, and maybe it could be over 400hp? I'm getting used to my 3.5 liter, but I'd love a little more power out of it. I'm waiting for the "F" accessories line to add GS parts, and I'll add an exhaust and intake to my car, and maybe I'll get another 20 hp or so. If anyone sees a supercharger for the 3.5 liter, and it's not insanely expensive, let me know!!
  22. Well, LF-A is definitely coming. Lexus had a pre-production model at Pebble Beach a few months back, and they were showing it off to potential buyers (Jay Leno types). I'd love to have one, but I think it'll be a little out of my price range, unfortunately. I hope they do build a new Supra...keep it under about $70k, and over 450-500hp stock, and I'm in. The IS-F will be out in about a month, and it's about $60k, with just over 400hp, so I think a Supra is feasible.
