  1. The tires and steering column issue could be related...but it's also not unusual for the tires to wear out in only 25,000 miles. The original factory installed tires on Toyota cars are a softer compound made for better handling, less road noise, etc. Unfortunately, they wear out faster too. You have to make a choice: longer tire life, or a really good combination of low road noise/handling. You should be happy with 25k - my Supra tires wore out in only 17k!
  2. I think the biggest problem you're going to have is that the turbo parts and installation cost will be far and above the value of the car, partly because it'll be custom work, partly because turbos are EXPENSIVE...are you sure you want to go that route? On the plus side, it could be a real sleeper!
  3. I changed mine around 165k as it was getting clogged up, and causing problems occasionally when the RPMs dropped (like at lights, stop signs, etc.)
  4. This doesn't answer all your questions, but the simplest way to help prevent fuel pressure related check engine lights is to make sure your gas cap clicks closed a couple times when you close it.
  5. I think you have a built-in amp. That being said, my husband bought a decent sub for an old Lexus I used to have, and just that simple addition made a HUGE difference to the stock system. I didn't need to rip anything out or add any different speakers, and the car sounded really great.
  6. I'm trying to remember what a 1998 Corolla interior looks like, but I think you can pry off the trim piece around the handle.
  7. Fuel filter/fuel pump? Check those out...
  8. I know that Southeast Toyota sold quite a few Camrys, Corollas, Avalons, etc. with custom paint, and special wheels that aren't really a Toyota part. You may be able to get lugs from a dealer in Florida/Georgia/Louisiana, etc.
  9. It should work on your LX. Try again...maybe you're not pressing the correct area on the screen...
  10. If I were you, I'd feel much more comfortable taking it to the dealer...just for the very simple reason that it's a Hybrid, not a regular car.
  11. V4's definitely don't exist for Toyota...maybe the Pontiac Quad 4? Not sure...don't know anything about Pontiac.
  12. I agree with Fidgets...ask $1,000, take no less than $500.
  13. That would be my guess...the Supra was just my example.
  14. Probably about 64,xxx.... Maybe even 65,xxx
  15. Toyota batteries are fine...but I have heard good things among Supra owners about the Optima.
  16. Are you sure? I could flip up the wiper on the back glass of all of my Supras...

    Toyota Prius

Not positive, but I think towing 2 wheels up (front two, of course) would probably be okay. It would definitely be a problem with all four wheels on the ground.

The Toyota 3.5 is a V6, not a straight 6. I've actually heard V8...after all, Toyota does have that lovely 4.3 liter V8. Imagine that with a turbo or supercharger?
  19. Welcome! Love to see pics when you get them....
  20. That would explain it. He's worried about the mileage on his V6....there's 4 or 5 mpg difference between the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines.
  21. Just a thought...did you try cleaning off the sensors? And why isn't that under warranty? Do you have a lot of miles on your car?
  22. And you must have pictures, right? (Hint, hint)
  23. For rims, try www.discountire.com, www.discounttiredirect.com, or www.tirerack.com. Or a Toyota dealer...but plan to spend a lot more on OEM wheels.
