  1. Well Folks the word is in. I went back to the dealer for the second time regarding the noise coming from the steering wheel and as with the 2003 model Camry the steering column (shaft) turned out to be the culprit. Funny thing is they didn’t need to even test drive the car, they all ready knew what the problem was...it would have been nice if they would have fixed it the first time through and saved me the run around. However, hopefully this will resolve the problem. Thanks to all in helping to diagnose this problem.
  2. Carlearner, I have not had a chance to get back to the dealer yet. What's the word on yours? I feel my dealer may be trying to avoid this repair, perhaps too costly. Thanks
  3. Both directions, I'm going to take it back into the dealer and have them take a closer look...brakes included. Thanks for the help.
  4. Full Lock?? Not sure, I did notice yesterday it sometimes happens when I hit the brake. How could this be caused by worn-out calipers, the car only has 22.000 miles? Does the rack and pinion assembly need to be greased periodically? Thanks
  5. The sound seems to be coming from the front end, I can feel a popping thud on the steering wheel as well as hear it...I would say it's outside...rack and pinion maybe? Thanks
  6. Im driving a 2004 Camry LE and just recently I started hearing a popping noise every time I turn the wheel, I took it to the dealer and they said that it was normal. Well, it seems to be getting worse, does anyone know of the same problem? Thanks
