  1. You could try a junkyard...many of those parts you listed would still be good at a junkyard.
  2. That is really cool...wonder what it does the 1/4 mile in?
  3. You could always infiltrate the Honda club and eventually take over. Welcome!!
  4. Ok, that's a better line...just use the bike instead! What kind of bike?
  5. I doubt you'll find something like that because it would be a major safety liability issue. You'll find that when it comes to safety equipment, no one wants to alter the factory specs. Pretty much everything else is fair game, but safety is a sticky subject.
  6. How did what happen? Anyway, I'd love to hear the results of that installation. I wouldn't mind having an extra 20hp in my GS.
  7. Dudley, Thank you for your post. We would like to have you as a member of our forum if you can help out and answer questions on the cars, etc., not just look for sales (although I applaud your efforts to find new business!). Welcome to our forum!
  8. Just tell her you drive it because you're trying to help save the environment and it gets 40mpg. :P
  9. Never heard of it. Are you going to give it a try?
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself!!!
  11. TIS = Toyota Technical Information System. Repair manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. I think you can buy a short term subscription to it, but not sure of the costs. I know there's another company out there too, but can't think of the name.
  12. Great post...thanks! Yes, I agree. Those first Solaras were very elegant, with rich interiors, nice clean lines, and a good powertrain.
  13. They should be different sensors, but again, it's a touchy subject when you start messing with safety equipment, so I'd probably get a one month subscription to TIS or something similar before I started taking that stuff apart., if I were you.
  14. Interesting. So what kind of power does a turbo Solara put out?
  15. Welcome! We'd love to see photos of your car.
  16. You can just click on the "FORUMS" tab at the top of each page (see right underneath the red car in the header, on the left side..." Home" "Club Hub", "Forums", "News", etc.) Here's a link directly to it: http://us.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=8 The brakes look very cool.
  17. Yes, they've been around longer than we have...we're working our way up. :) The Corollas in the UK are a bit different than US spec though.
  18. Can't tell you for sure, but probably not...turn the car off and detach the battery before removal though, or you'll have even more issues with the sensors.
  19. Welcome! Thanks for the suggestion. The appropriate place for the Solara would be in the Camry group, as it's officially a Camry Solara, not just a Solara. Love that bodystyle though...so elegant.
  20. You realize that's in a different forum, right? You started the new one in the UK forums. Anyway, on the navigation/back-up camera, you could contact these guys: http://www.coastaletech.com/ I haven't heard much from them lately, but I used to hear a lot of good things from them.
  21. Welcome! What are you having difficulty finding on the navigation system?
  22. Here's the kicker to that recall: if you read the fine print, it's only the aftermarket brake fluids that cause the issue. If you maintain your car at Toyota and use Toyota brand brake fluid, you're fine, no issues. There's some sort of polymer in the Toyota fluid that prevents the problem by lubricating the seal, and when people start using off-brands, they don't have the polymer in them, and the seal dries out. I always say maintain your car at the dealer (especially when you hear Jiffy Lube horror stories!)...here's a good reason why. On the Sienna: not every model uses the same components, so no reason it should be involved in the recall. It may just be getting old, unfortunately...
  23. A good part of that problem is that you live in Michigan, and the road commission uses salt on the roads...it's very corrosive, and almost every car that gets driven in that stuff eventually develops rust, corrosion, etc. Double check your warranty book, because I'm not sure what the warranty term is for corrosion. It may be longer than the standard 3/36k warranty.
  24. Rust is the big one...good luck, and have fun if you get the car!!
