Apparantly, the VVTLi has a reduced rev limit of 7k when the engine isnt properly warm... so leave the engine to warm up and try again...

well, the LandCruiser is said to be the best off roader ever... so the highlander, while softer, still has that DNA... There are lots of mods you can do to your SUV, such as snorkel etc...

what sort of damage? what sort of suggestions are you looking for?

sounds like the amps dying, or cutting out... It could be as simple as one of the speakers shorting, so the output amp has a safety cut out.. but from your description it does sound like something in the player, amp is most common.

Well, you can have your car serviced wherever you want, i'm pretty sure you will find at least one independant mechanic in your area who has experience.

unfortuanatly, i think unless you actually can override the factory settings, you'll have to make do... anti-jack features are quite important to most people nowadays, so just take solice when you other half borrows the car, she'll be fine ;)

Hi and welcome. As Leigh says, best start is a performance exhaust system, this will allow your engine to rev better. Couple this to a cold air intake system, and if you can afford it, a piggyback ECU to take maximum advantage of the modifications.
