  1. i think unless its an improved Toyota system, installed by an approved toyota installer, it will void the warranty..
  2. a bit of rust doesnt mean its gonna give, but yeah, you should really have it checked, as if it goes, it'll do a lot of damage... I edited the title for you. :D
  3. hi and welcome... if you want your username changing, please send me a PM..
  4. yeah, ive got denso iridium - great stuff!
  5. yeah, it does sound like perhaps a dodgy connection... have you checked all the connectors are seated properly? normally id say check for corrosion, but if its a 2005, unless you park your truck on Santa Cruz boardwalk every night, i dont think it'll be that!
  6. sounds odd... have you recieved the stations ok on other radios?
  7. the cars under warranty - they need to fix it... if they dont, give Toyota US a call, see how quickly the dealer jumps to it then ;)
  8. theres no reason the 3s-GTE wont squeeze in, of course, you wont be able to have 4WD, that would take some significant work..
  9. dont you have to brace them from the inside... you can get a tool to hold the mechanism while you unscrew the handle!
  10. yeah, id check whether you have an inbulit amp or not first... as for wiring, ill have a look around for you!
  11. yeah, at 200,000km you really should change the fuel filter!
  12. unfortunatly it is being discontinued due to emissions... bugger!
  13. sorry - but that must have been really annoying, trapped in your car
  14. yeah, the air intake should be quite easy - just remove the airbox, find the feed - fit the elbow there, the pipe to the open space and fit the filter... as humanoid says, there should be instructions..
  15. well, if your looking for performance, well, it comes down to budget... a performance exhaust system is always a good start, and you can couple that with an induction kit. Then you might want to consider a piggy-back ECU - just to maximise the effect of the mods by controlling the air and fuelling... Of course, the best way forward is a supercharger. TTE (toyota Team Europe) have one available, and will increase the power to around 225bhp... For handling, lowering springs and struct braces will help lots, and make it feel much stiffer and more stable, but for maximum handling, go for coilovers... hoep this helps...
  16. wow - sounds like your doing a great job of restoring her to her former glory!
  17. lexus - this is posted in Prius - so im guessing it effects the Prius?
  18. sorry you havent had a reply yet - perhaps there arent a lot of reliable mechanics in LA!
  19. if its a buisness, you really should discuss with admin about offering your services on the forum... ;)
  20. i'd say, put it up at $1000 ono, and as you say, drop it to $800 if you get a good buyer... feel free to post a for sale thread on here, pictures also help.
  21. for the time being, just stick those in general chat - if it takes off we have have a sub-forum..
  22. sounds like a nightmare! wanna share the method?
  23. yeah - this is a resistor to fool the ECU into thinking the engine is cold, and therefore driving it with a rich mixture of fuel. It gives the sensation of improving performance, but really is just the equivalent of driving around with a manual choke out... Oh, it'll fry your O2 sensor, destroy your fuel economy, and not actually improve performance....
