  1. Hi Pat....welcome to the Forum How is the rebuild going? The ES will probably go on for many more miles as that was a good year for automobile production, I think post 2007 models started to show some issues. Good to have you onboard!
  2. I would remove the thermostat to see if there is an even flow of coolant. If so, then chances are it is a faulty (albeit new) thermostat Air can be very difficult to remove from a cooling system occasionally but always check the obvious things first. A coolant pressure cap is a prime example of when it fails for the pressure to drop and lead to overheating and also a source to introduce air into the system......very cheap part to replace
  3. Sounds like a wheel sensor is sensing some wheel slippage....check tires (tread, pressure) and also that the area where the wheel sensors connections aren't clogged up with dirt, etc.
  4. Probably the Defender 2 as the Cross-Climate 2 looks more like a Winter tire from the tread pattern?
  5. Sounds like it could be the charger or lead you are using, try using a different one to see if that changes things
  6. Not sure how it comes out but am surprised it needs work, they're not normally a part that fails much on Toyotas
  7. Hi CamryChris ....welcome to the Club Sounds like you have great plans for the Camry Feel free to post up some pics of the car as is and when you have modded it Also, your brothers Avalon would get some interest from fellow members I'm sure Good to have you onboard!
  8. Its definitely worth getting back to the dealer to order an additional remote key as they may only charge you a nominal fee as you bought the vehicle from them
  9. Welcome.....great to hear you're happy with the Echo Although an aweful shame to leave a 454 parked but cost of fuel I totally get it šŸ˜ž
  10. Can you please upload a photo which may give some more clues as to its meaning, thanks
  11. Hi....welcome to the Club It could be air in the cooling system and you would need to measure the temperature of all the cooling system components with an infra-red temperature gun (very cheap to buy and use) this will then indicate where there is a cool or hot spot and this could be the air or blockage Have you looked in the trunk area bolted to one of the side panels?
  12. Not sure but there are some reviews on popular motoring sites that may be useful Generally, all the Toyota engines are incredibly reliable but differing power outputs which may be your choice
  13. Hi Eric0624 .... welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  14. I guess if you take everything into account such as the heater and other ancillaries running along with extra luggage, possibly using AWD more than normal then this may have lead to the lower MPG than you are accustomed to ?
  15. As far as I know the 2.2 has bombproof engine and should go on for years without issue.
  16. Hi....welcome to the Club Wow! you really are a Toyota family and great to hear that you have been running them successfully (if that is the right word) for so many years Door handles do appear to be an issue judging by the number of posts relating to them on here Good to have you onboard!
  17. Tough one to narrow it down but I would check for play in everything from wheel nuts to engine mounts, bearings to pulleys until you find some wear or play in the components. Personally, I would throw my time and money at the propshaft bearings and joints to start with
  18. It may be cheaper and easier in the long run to get a headrest mount and place a tablet or portable DVD player (for offline play) in there to play the movie?
  19. Check the chassis and engine earth straps/leads as if one of these is broken or corroded then this could cause the symptoms you describe
  20. Driving style does make a huge difference to fuel economy but if you're happy with that MPG then its not too bad
  21. Unfortunately, it may be a process of elimination to determine the cause of the fault....it will probably take time more than money to resolve it
  22. I guess it is not meant to work over 6mph as this is classed as a distraction whilst driving if your attention is diverted to a screen, helpful when under a certain speed to maneouveur into spaces, etc
