  1. maybe the cargo net for the Matrix will fit in your Corolla.
  2. Wish I knew about this when I got the Matrix. The OEM tires for the Matrix, especially the Continentals wear out too fast. They are supposed to last about 40k miles, my OEMs were going bald @ 25k with bad "cupping". Meaning the tire wasn't as round as it could be. Still I went aftermarket with Kumho ASTs and bigger size rims and am loving it ever since.
  3. Might be an issue with the Drive By Wire Sensor.... If I recall correctly the 2005 Corollas had a throttle body with no cable just sensor control. Check with the dealer on this, there may also be a TSB.
  4. Since your Corolla is the new 09's stick with dealership oil changes for now. Better still if you are mechanically inclined you can do the oil changes yourself. I would recommend the OEM oil filters though over aftermarket name brands like Fram or Wal-Mart specials. But the the 2006 Corolla owner should look into changing his own oil or if he knows a reputable mechanic shop to go there. $60 oil change better include synthetic oil use as with regular oil and filter change In My Opinion should cost around $20 - $30.
  5. Reminder BUMP!!! Toyotafest 2008 is next Saturday the 3rd of May!!!!
  6. No problem, glad you got what you needed. If the Toyota dealer you go to sucks, there are always other dealerships willing to help. Just need to find where they are. Not all dealerships are "stealerships".
  7. Pictures and of course stating your location. By the 714 area code - I see that you live in the Orange County area of Southern California. If you are unsure of how to post pix, assuming you have a digital camera. Upload the pictures onto a free image website such as photobucket.com or imageshack.us. That would enable the Original Poster to display pics of the Solara for sale thus enhancing the chances of a quick sell. and welcome to TOC!
  8. Welcome! For the fender clip, you can go to the dealer OR go to your local auto parts store and search for one of those clips. If you really want to be cost effective but still have that OEM fit, try your local junkyard for Camry's in that model year and you might get lucky.

    2009 Matrix

It's been out a couple of months now, and wanted to reserve a spot for the new generation Matrix owners here. AWD, Base, S & XRS go ahead and post pics of your ride! edited as there is no XR models for the 2009.
  10. welcome! I don't see a problem, your celica looks great!
  11. actually the 2zz motor has a little more issues, due to it's high performance nature. as such, 2zz owners tend to "enjoy" LIFT (powerband from 6200 - to redline) a bit too much. The LIFT bolts do need to be properly cared for as well. Other than the power advantage, 1zz motors do have better fuel mileage and a slight torque advantage over the 2zzs - of course until LIFT kicks in. In your case, it may just a bad motor which is not a common issue. Did you get your car used or new? If used, the prior owner may not have cared for it properly.
  12. When I test drive one of the 09's, I'll let you know if this is true. ;)
  13. Not sure, probably because the North American Headquarters are in Southern California (city of Torrance).
  14. http://www.toyotaclub.org/Toyotafest/toyotafest.htm Event will be held @ the Long Beach City College - Veterans Stadium. If interested in entering your Toyota the cost is $40 before 4/10/08. Registration after 4/10 is $50. Registration ends 4/20/08 Those interested in attending, but not entering the show, admission is free & parking (Limited space) is $5. Kids under 12 free. I am not affiliated with this event, I just people to be aware of this yearly event. Some from last years show:
  15. ^ what was I thinking? I love my Matrix..... more torque is great in the 2009, but sacrificing MPG (03-08 Models got better mileage) is a bit confusing especially with summer approaching. I expect the new generation Matrix to sell better than the 1st gen though.
  16. will do. it's a bit hard to find since your GS350 is still relatively new to the aftermarket. ;)
  17. wow, thanks. I hope I can be an insightful contributor to this site. :D
  18. So did I. That makes Leighcm that much cooler.

  19. Well okay you convinced me. :P Do I get a free Toyotaownersclub T-Shirt?
  20. Perhaps engine sludge from the dino oil that was in there previously. Was the car new? Was it properly maintained? The CEL should go away, but i suggest getting the code read 1st. After doing so, you can remove the CEL by either removing the negative terminal to the battery for about 5-10 minutes or removing the ECU fuse under the hood for about 5-10 minutes. You have an 04 Corolla, so I believe you have the 1zz-fe motor. That being the case with a filter change you would need about 4.5 quarts of oil. The symptoms you described sound like engine sludge and the synthetic is cleaning it out.
