  1. NUMMI factory in California
  2. BUMP reminder!!! This event is this coming Saturday May 9th, 2009. See old school Toyotas as well as some current models out there. Restored, modified, and shiny glory that is Toyota.
  3. What was the CEL code? There is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for the Matrix for cold start ups.
  4. I try not to treat it like a pickup, but a couple of times I have had to carry 12 8 feet 2x4's with the rear hatch window open and front passenger seat down. Also carried 6 pallets and I was still able to close the rear hatch down with no issues. Some owners of the Matrix prefer to use up the rear area for this (not mine): also welcome to TOC USA!
  5. perhaps, unless the OP wanted to show off some OEM rims. :P

    2009 Matrix

just need to push the wheels out more. perhaps 15 mm wheel spacers for the rear and 10mm for the front.

    2009 Matrix

2009 Matrix XRS with TEIN H-Techs made for the 2003-2008 models: Apparently springs fit from the previous Matrix model, though so far the one's pictured are the minimal drop variety such as: Eibach Pro-Kits & TEIN H-techs. PErhaps the 2009 models drop more on springs as compared to the 03-08s.
  8. You can also find code readers cheap online whether it is ebay or harbor freight. VSV - vacuum switching valve. emissions related.
  9. Replace belt when it starts to squeal. Suggest using Goodyear Gatorbacks as they will not squeal even in the most humid weather. Front brake pads, most likely correct. Resurface rotors = not likely if you feel any pulsing when you are braking then yes do so, but I prefer buying new rotors. I might have a Matrix, but it shares the same engine components as your generation Corolla.
  10. Welcome to TOC USA! With the help of Google, it seems that your Avensis is the 2nd generation model that is related to the Toyota brand known in the USA as Scion model TC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Avensis
  11. Check the carfax history of that Echo before final purchase. If clear, you should be on your way to a reliable car with excellent fuel mileage. Welcome to TOC USA!!!
  12. I was bored: Probably the last time, I'll have the Trix like this, more mods planned for this year. ;)
  13. true, but we need to know where the OP lives to give a good response. Corollas are currently manufactured in Japan, the United States (Fremont, California), the United Kingdom (Derbyshire), Canada (Cambridge, Ontario), Malaysia, China (Tianjin), Taiwan, South Africa, Brazil (Indaiatuba, São Paulo), Turkey, Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, Pakistan, India and Indonesia. I think for the North America market, the car would be designed (steering wheel location) for North American customers.
  14. P0135 O2Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #1 Sensor #1) should be the O2 sensor nearest the engine. did you reset the computer after replacing the bad sensor? reset = disconnect negaive terminal from battery for about 10 minutes OR disconnect ECU fuse for about 10 minutes. Once reset the computer can read the sensor readings and adjust accordingly.
  15. Question, where do you live? The Japan Corolla would be right hand drive aka steering wheel is on the right side of the car. The US Corolla would be left hand drive aka the steering wheel would be on the left side of the car. Quality wise: should be the same for either model. Just need to check the history and mileage on both Toyotas. By the way, Welcome to TOC USA!!!
  16. ^ and with the right driver these Corollas will out drift the 240s. ;)
  17. Aftermarket alarm? Starter kill? Perhaps new terminals are needed?
