Been a while since I posted, so here's the update.
Truck is running like a top. found out the emissions computer had taken a dump, and was causing the problem of the early choke pull-off and the running rich. Replaced with a unit from a '83 Supra, choke functions flawless. Took the old girl out on the I-state, and give it a good blowing-out. This little thing will get up and move. Ended up replacing the fuel pick-up tube in the tank with a new unit from the boneyard. All that's left now is paint, suspension and body work. I was amazed at how clean the radiator was, being it's the original unit. Another Toyota lives on!!
BTW....DMV here almost crapped, as the truck is 25 yrs. old and exempt from emissions. Anyone know how to remove the EGR system without harming the motor? I've already dropped the catcon from it, and I think the EGR is on the way out now. Seems the emissions puter only controls the EGR, one solenoid on the carb, and the choke pull-off, which I an easilly bypass the latter.
