I have a 98 camry and i was interesting in replacing most of my exterior lights with LED lights So i wanted to know if anyone had any experience doing so? My one question was that, i once saw a old lexus LS400 that had its brake lights replaced with LED's and that made the car think that the brake lights were fused so the indicator light came on. My car also has that same indicator system, so i wanted to know if anyone put LED bulbs in their camry and if it made the fused brake light indicator come on?

So I was looking into wheel locks or Tuner lugs for my car, I dont really know much about what exactly Tuner lugs are, I know what wheel locks are and right now i'm looking around to find a set of tunerlugs/wheel locks for my wheels. Any suggestions? my wheels come in tomorrow and i'll have them put on next week. Thanks in advance.

Ahh toyota switches up the access for the service menu so I dont know the correct method to find it. However i'm sure if you search youtube for a little bit you'll find some young hooligan whos found it!

hmm does it mention anywhere about a reset button in the manual? The only other place i'v seen toyota put a reset button beside the places listed above was in the glove box, when you open it, it might be on the side, at least thats where it is on my brother's scion tC. If thats not the case i'd suggest mentioning it at your next oil change since your car is a 08 and is still under warranty it wouldn't hurt.

But if you have any tips or anything i should look out for please do tell!

I was planning on having it installed myself. a buddy of mine used to work at a window tinting place and said we could put it on together, all i needed to do was buy the film and he would provide the tools and know how :)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy pre cut ceramic window tint online? I found a place that sells normal window tint pre cut but dont think they do ceramic, any help would be great!

My camry is a 1998 I4 stock everything. 3000lbs to 4000lbs gross weight i believe? tires and wheels are as mentioned above 225R40/18.

by the way, anyone know any good places to buy some rims? i'm looking somewhere around $100 per rim.

ahh i see. i'll have the oil changed next time I go in for service in that case. I might have my trans serviced, I'v only had the fluid changed in the trans but the servicing power washes out the trans and the diff and puts new fluid in both so it might be worth it to get it done now.

Hi, my 98 camry has about 165K on it and I've maintained it rather well and its in tip top mechanical condition and I was wondering if anyone knew how often should the differential be serviced? and what can be done to maintain it. Thanks in advance for your advice leighcm :)

oh wow thats really good fuel consumption for a car that size. And also is it quick? i was reading somewhere that the electric motor generates 199 ft-lbs of tq and the 2.4 gas engine makes somewhere in the 130-140 ft-lbs of tq., so combined thats pretty hefty amount of torque :)

ahh i saw the latest matrix when i went to give my car for servicing yesterday. It is a really good looking car, proportions are just right and wheels/tire combos are excellent, the bridgestone turanza? tires looked great on the 17" rims. and I didnt even see a XRS i was looking at a S :P

I had a loaner 07 camry no nav LE and the interior/radio lights were pretty bright. but I kinda liked it? liked it a lot actually. lol Guess thats the generation Y inside of me talking :) I"m sure your camry must have a dimmer switch every toyota car I have ever been in has had one.

yeah i agree that it is probly the sells on the doors. My rubber seal on my 98 camry on the passenger door has detached from the car. only thing keeping it where it is, is the rear door remaining shut/still adhesive and some of the still adhesive glue towards the windshield. Hasn't leaked yet but I'v been meaning to fix it.

YES you read my mind lol i'm 100% sure i'm going with brushed or painted, just havent decided which yet but i think i'm going to just go through and just find rims that are available in my size from a few brands i like and are in my price range and go from there

I used the calculator mentioned above and here were the results 195/70R-14 to 225/40R-18 (seems I was mistaken with the tires being 17" hehe) Sidewall height difference : -1.83 Section Width Difference :1.18 Overall diameter difference : 0.34 Circumference difference : 1.06 Rev's per mile: -11 Speedo reads 65MPH it would really be 65.89 So with those results, what measures would I have to take to ensure my odo registers fine and my tires dont rub when I turn my wheel until it locks?

So, I was just wondering what kind of real world mileage do camry hybrid owners get? i was Interested after a buddy of mine with a 03 civic hybrid said hes MPG has gradually declined and now he only gets 30-35mpg, and i still get 31! even though my car is 10 years old/162k. Seems gradually speeding up/slowing down, keeping my rev's down, and AC off when possible helps a lot with fuel consumption since my car is only rated at 27mpg highway and my AVG is 31. Also I think a few other little things help, shell's V-Power fuel, clean air filter, changing oil/mobil1, denso plugs/wires changed at 100k etc etc. Right now I avg 500 to, at a stretch of ideal driving 550 miles on 1 tank of 16.2 gallons of premium fuel, usually only have .3 gallons left at the end when i fill up again.

I think it should fit, but i'll use the calculator that leighcm linked above to find out exactly what the differences are between my stock and the aftermarket. but if not, I was thinking of just selling those tires and using the money to buy either smaller rims and tires or the stock 15" alloys, but i'll see when the time comes, keep ya posted.

in the winter it would be in the teens to low 20's and the car idle high when on a cold start like normal and then drop down to a low idle like normal within 5 mins and i wouldn't expierence any electrical issues but once i started driving heat on, stero on at redlights i'd experince slight dimming of the intrument pannel then it would become normal again once i started driving/built up the revs past the 700rpm idle.
