tkpktoyota
My 95 Corolla has almost 104000 miles on it now. I have been using the Jiffy Lube's signature service with regular oil until now. Recently I read that for high mileage cars, synthetic oil is recommended. Is it true or just a gimmick by oil companies to sell expensive oil. If I do add synthetic engine oil, will I still have to change oil at every 3000 miles or 3 months ? What are most of the old Corolla users adding ? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Leighcm
Regular oil is probably fine. The key is changing it regularily. You can extend the oil change duration if you have synthetic oil, but it still doesn't make up for the extra cost.
