  1. Thanks...they seem pretty good. Tried to slide the car around a corner, they stuck better than expected. Since it appears I'll be driving this car for awhile, had to buy the tires, darn it. I did get 26k out of the factory originals, which I thought was pretty good, especially considering my driving style (racetrack, treating the drive to work like a racetrack, etc.).

Sure wish Lexus would hurry up and get this new GS out. Heard it's been delayed until 2013 model year now. I did go test drive an M6 the other day, really liked it for the most part, but scared of German car repair levels (just don't have time to deal with a broken car).

  2. Just did it a couple days ago actually...got Michelin Pilot PS2s. Seem good so far, but I've only put about 20 miles on the car. I did consider the Conti's, but was told by several sources the Michelins were a bit better.

  3. 1. Toyota To Resume Japan Production Of Prius and Two Lexus Hybrids On Monday

TMC announced early today that it will resume Japan production Monday of Prius along with the Lexus CT 250h and HS 250h at its Tsutsumi and Toyota Motor Kyushu plants.

The vehicle assembly announcement comes one week after Toyota restarted production of replacement parts and three days after reopening plants to produce parts for overseas plants in the aftermath of a massive earthquake/tsunami that struck the country on March 11.

    .

TMC said it is continuing to keep an “eye on progress in production while carefully assessing parts supply.”

  4. I don't think you can activate it...I think there's some sort of kit you could get to have it added as a feature though. Probably a couple hundred bucks. You could just turn on your lights and save yourself the money though.

  5. Tell us more about the Zune...does it have bluetooth? I doubt it connects with USB, does it?

I don't suppose you'd settle for just buying a $10 audio cable, plugging it into the aux port, and controlling the music off the Zune itself? That should definitely work.

  6. Yes, Toyota has been dragged through Congress. However, so have Ford, GM, and Chrysler, and to date, any one of them has far more recalls, including safety recalls, than Toyota. I don't know if you heard, but the same US supplier that caused Toyota to have issues with pedals also supplied Chrysler, who very quietly recalled a ton of cars for exactly the same problem.

  7. Paint protection is ok, usually just above average wax. Interior protection is nice though...some of those programs cover stains and spills to the carpet so can be well worth it. You're more buying the warranty than the product application, so just think of it that way.

On extended warranties: it's almost always better buying the one offered by the manufacturer. Some of the aftermarket companies are ok, most are comparatively terrible (limited coverage, won't honor much, etc.). If you want an extended warranty, get the one from Toyota Financial Services.

  8. A couple things come to mind: you may have to be stopped to turn it off. There may also be a couple different modes...try pressing it down and holding it for 10 seconds or so, while stopped.
