  1. Southern California actually has mountains with snow - so that MIGHT be why they had them.

But I agree with what was posted.

Still - those rubber mats can be bought from a local auto store- but again I still see no reason to put a 2nd set of floor mats (carpet or rubber/all-weather) mats on top of a another set.

    Purpose is to what?

    Keep the bottom one's clean?

People just lack some common sense some times. Just cut some holes for the 2nd set of floor mats to the floor mat anchor to avoid this issue - but sometimes it takes a tragedy to happen before people wake up from their nap of ignorance.

  2. Looks great. Are you noticing any performance differences?

AEM SRI - same performance as the TRD CAI - much easier to clean the filter when the time comes.

TRD FSB is stiffer than the DC FSB - turns are smoother.

HIDs - see much better @ night as compared to the SilverStar Ultras I was using. I will never go back to halogen bulbs.

oil catch can - I hope it keeps the intake manifold, IACV and throttle body clean.

  3. just thought I would update this a little:

I switched the Nokya artic white turn signal bulbs to Silverstar turn signals as with HIDs - no one can see the white turn signals anymore - wink.gif

  4. Sad to say that the belt and belt tensioner going bad on a 1zz-fe or 2zz-ge motor is a common issue. A lot of Matrix, Corolla and Celica drivers have had this issue.

Though if it is the belt tensioner - the new one from the dealer has been improved to NOT have that be an issue again (mostly).

As for the belt - GoodYear Gatorback belt has been a godsend for many 1st generation Matrix and 9th generation Corolla owners.

  5. There are air conditioner cleaning products and service out there for you.

OR you can from time to time, use the A/C and NOT recirculate the air flow so the outside dry air will prevent that "mildew/sweaty sock" smell from forming.

When you use the A/C - moisture is created, if you keep using the A/C on and it is recirculated (Max A/C) bacteria eventually gather onto the moisture and then you have that "smell".

Once in a while - open the vents to fresh air with the A/C on to prevent this.

  6. the car just turned over 67k

No need to resurface unless your brake pedal is vibrating when you are decelerating your Corolla.

Some would say just buy new brake rotors as they are cheap.

Others would say go and resurface.

Unless there is that vibrating or pulsating when you press the brakes, then don't worry about the rotors.
