  1. to be honest, it just sounds like the bulbs may have gone. Of course, have you checked the fuses first?
  2. the console has bolts either side of the transmission tunnel.. that should give you access...
  3. Firstly. This club has no official connection to Toyota. It is an owners club, where Toyota owners and enthusiasts can meet. Secondly, I understand your frustration, HOWEVER, I have NEVER heard Toyota having the reputation of being Quiet - if you want silence, buy a Lexus... Toyota has a reputation for reliability. If your not happy with your car, i do feel for you, however, i do think you are over-reacting to the issue, surely if you bought the car new, and you were unhappy you could request a refund or replacement, and the fact you havent suggests you cannot be that unhappy with the car..
  4. well, if you want to keep the stock tyres then you'll need to stick to the 14/15" size the car comes with. If you go for a larger wheel, you can get low profile tyres to maintain the rolling radius.. Depends what your after really?
  5. to me it just sounds like normal A/C - the squeal is probably just the AC compressor belt being a little slack, nothing to worry about..
  6. I would have said it was a sensor, but if you've changed that and it still hasnt worked thats a tricky one!
  7. in all honesty though, if wind noise is your only complaint, it must be a good car...
  8. it should tell you to turn around or find an alternative. Was it giving you instructions up until then? if not, it sounds like you hadnt selected navigation mode, if it was, what happened when you took the detour?
  9. looking very nice :D
  10. well, that seems strange that 'excessive wind noise' could be normal.. is it possible to drown it out with the stereo?
  11. could it be the airflow over the wing mirror? Or is it perhaps getting through the seal? Being a new car, perhaps the rubber seal isnt sealing? Try wiping it with a wet cloth, see if that helps..
  12. its very difficult to say - i suppose it depends at what speed... where is the noise coming from? the seals? mirror?
  13. general rule of thumb. Keep it under 4k revs for the first 1000 miles then under 5k for the next 1000 should be okay.
  14. theres not much to take out of a 2-seater sports car though?
  15. shocks? struts? Its very hard to say, but a good mechanic should offer to find out FOC..
  16. strange. I know they did MR2's with the 2.0 FE (128bhp) engine, but not a 2.2 version. As for more power - well the best start is an induction kit and exhaust combo - perhaps consider a piggyback ECU such as a Datek - that'll give you around 10-15% increase in performance, but more importantly, the car will feel much better.
  17. generally this is for when something isnt quite right - such as the airflow sensor getting a null reading.. I would reccomend taking it to the garage to see what is wrong..
  18. ouch! I hope that wasnt too costly to fix..
  19. I cant see why not? It may take some extra work - but it will be worth it.. Well, the pressure doesnt help too much - what turbo are you planning on running?
  20. As for the internals... slightly more complex... The rule of thumb for most Toyota engines is up to 30% increase in HP for standard internals.... go any higher, your going to want forged pistons etc...
  21. Well, the best bet for the ECU is a piggyback unit, like a HKS F-con or similar...
  22. well, if you post your questions, one of them may be along to answer ;)
  23. Exactly - and thats the market its going after...
  24. well, what about the 180bhp corrola, or isnt that available? Not to mention, the soon to be released 225bhp version ;) plus, the rolla has more space.
