1995 V6 Camry Wagon Idles High

I have a 1995 V6 Camry Wagon with Japanese VIN # that Idles High in bumper to bumper traffic only. It requires a quick tap of the accelerator and it backs down. It will do this every time I touch the gas pedal as long as I am in bumper to bumper. This never happens on the highway. The temperature does not seem to be raising too much when this happens either. I have had had the innjectors cleaned and had the throttle body chemically cleaned by a reputable shop (not my local dealer).

I am told that I may need to replace the throttle body. Can anybody help me out with this one? Thanks.

  • 2 months later...

i had the same issue .

i put some Lub on the trotle mecanism and still doing the same

then , as i was checking where the cable was coming from . i realized it was not coming from the pedal directly , it was coming from the cruise control bloc wich is under a black plastic cover on front on the engine .

i removed the cover , and i lubricated the parts .

it is all ok now
