tkpktoyota
I have 95 Toyota Corolla DX. The car has ~113000 miles on it. The timing belt was replaced around 60000, spark plugs and EGR valve are new. It vibrates a lot while idle, but not as soon as its in motion. Could it be bad engine mounts or something else ? If its engine mounts, then where are they located and can they be replaced without taking it to a mechanic ? Thanks in advance.
humanoid
Have you tried cleaning the throttle body or butterfly valve yet?
tkpktoyota
Have you tried cleaning the throttle body or butterfly valve yet? I haven't tried that yet. Will try this weekend. Thanks. BTW, I read that changing engine mounts require lifting the engine....so its definitely a very big job. So I wont even think about it. humanoid
Forgot to add, you might want to check for loose vacuum hoses too.
B-R-T
Throttle?! Vacuum?! WTF?! No offence, but.. ..well.. you %&@# It have to be the mounts (If RPMs are steady) or idle valve (if RPMs are jumping at idle)
