smittytoy
Hi, I have seen these ads on ebay for "performance chip Modifications" for like $10 bucks and the picture looks like a resistor being installed inline on one of the sensor connectors. Anyone know anything about this, or is it just snakeoil?
humanoid
From what I understand, it fools the computer that the air coming into the engine is cooler than it actually is and will run richer I think, I'm not too sure about the last part, but what I am sure about is these "chip" mods are all worthless pieces of junk. fidgits
yeah - this is a resistor to fool the ECU into thinking the engine is cold, and therefore driving it with a rich mixture of fuel. It gives the sensation of improving performance, but really is just the equivalent of driving around with a manual choke out... Oh, it'll fry your O2 sensor, destroy your fuel economy, and not actually improve performance....
rockerrock
It works exactly like this Link And if you actually want performance try this
