OrangeTaco
I have an intermittent longer start time on my 2013 Avalon. 3 out of 10 starts it takes 1-2 additional seconds to start - mostly 1 second. This started about 3 months ago. I assumed the the longer start time was due to the wear on the original spark plugs. So, I changed the spark plugs, along with the throttle body gasket and 3 plenum gaskets 2 weeks ago with original Toyota parts. Cleaned throttle body. Changed PCV valve. Car has 105,000 miles. Idle is smooth. Acceleration is smooth and stronger with new spark plugs. No backfire. Fuel economy is good. No engine lights on. I went to AutoZone. They scanned the battery and said it was good; starter and alternator good as well. They hooked up code scanner. No codes showed up. Any ideas what might be causing this intermittent delayed starting?
