Torvy
Howdy, y'all. I bought my first Toyota (a used Camry) in 1991...drove it for 19 years. Dad had a used Corolla when I was in HS for me to use. In total, we have had 2 Camrys (1990 and 2013-hybrid), 2 Siennas (1998 and 2010), 2 Priuses, er Priora, er Prii...(2006 and 2020 Prime), a 2005 Matrix and as of yesterday, a 2017 Tundra SR5 4x4. The hybrids and the 1st Sienna were new, the others are all 'new to me'. The Camry hybrid is now owned and driven by our adult son, the Matrix (5 speed, manual everything) started out as a 'kid-car' and is still running great. Just traded the Prime for the Tundra as we are leaving suburban life and moving out in the country to retire. The only real problem we had on any of our Toyotas was the exterior door handles on the Matrix. Whoever sourced the parts for that should have been fired (lol). They get very brittle and fall apart. I wish we could have found a 3rd party replacement that was better. Alas, we just drive it with a broken handle. (all 4 have been replaced at least once since we've owned it). Given our long history, the 'problem' is really very minor. I cannot believe it has take us this long to find a forum for Toyota drivers. I'm hoping to learn a lot about the Tundra and how to keep it going for another 10-20 years.
Toyota Owners Club
Hi....welcome to the Club Wow! you really are a Toyota family and great to hear that you have been running them successfully (if that is the right word) for so many years Door handles do appear to be an issue judging by the number of posts relating to them on here Good to have you onboard!
