  1. I run Denso Iridium in my Camry. They are more expensive, but they give great ignition and they also last a long time as well. Your car should use the IK16 plug.

You right, they last longer, but they dont give "great ignition". Because you dont NEED "great ignition" on stock non-turbo engine. And spark plugs are not generating spark. Ignition coil does. If you want "great ignition", put aftermarket coil(s), new wires and make a better ignition timing map. IK16 gives same spark as the K16 plugs, they only last longer.

  2. The only thing you will need to check is the rev limit for your car - aftermarket Tachometers wont nesacerily have the correct redline for your car.

Rev limiter is a ECU function. Tachometer only shows RPM, it does not control rev limiter. It will kick in anyway. Unless it was removed.

  3. Its not to hard. You just have to remove the auto tranny (first remove driveshafts from wheels and be careful when removing driveshafts from tranny, because when you remove them, the oil will leak from the tranny, so you better drain the tranny before removing driveshafts), then put a clutch disc and pressure plate on a flywheel (if the flywheel doesnt have holes for pressure plate bolts, you have to get other flywheel), then put the manual tranny on engine. Dont forget to put the release bearing on the imput shaft, before puting ir into clutch disc.

When tranny is in place put driveshafts into the tranny and into the wheels. Then fill the tranny with the oil (i'm not sure what kind of oil, because i reused the oil which I drained before). I filled my tranny through the back up light switch hole. But i think you could use any hole.

Then you have to put the clutch pedal and cylinder with the lines, the shifter, cables and other stuff. I'm not sure that speed sensors are the same. You have to figure that out. ;) Its not hard, you just need some time

I'm not sure about the engine/transmission mounts. I dont know are they the same.

And if the engine vibrates a lot, then you have to get you pressure plate balanced.

  4. You dont have to wait overnight for your car to cool down. Wait just a few hours until it cools down. Fuel pressure will not drop with temperature. When it cools down, put something under the FPR ant remove it. Just do it slowly. There will be some gasoline coming form the rail, but not too much. I suggest to do this job outside, because of the gasoline fumes. And its better to disconnect the battery when you do the job.

And of course.. Dont smoke ;)

  5. I just started doing work on my Corolla as of last weekend. The first parts I installed were a K&N Typhoon Cold Air Intake Kit (69-8754TP, don't let them tell you it only fits on the 1.6L engine, add a breather filter for the piston oil spray and it fits just fine street legal or not) and a Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust System (15807, 2.25" pipes, 3" exhaust). Yesterday, I installed my ASA AR1 17" wheels and some new Yokohama S.drive 205/45ZR17 tires. The car looks, sounds, and drives like a completely different vehicle. Next comes the limo tint and god only knows what else. Please offer any suggestions you all might have for engine upgrades. I do enjoy spending money on my car :)

Your "Cold Air Intake" doesnt look very cold. It is behind the battery. You better make a hole in your hood. Over the filter. And your "Magnaflow" exhaust is not working if you have cat ant stock header. It just souds louder.

If you want real power - go turbo. Its cheaper then doing a beast from an atmo. Because if you want more power from atmo, you have to modify cylinder head, put high compression pistons, high overlap and duration camshafts and so on. If you go turbo, you just have tu put an tubo on and make a good fuel/ignition map for it (you also may need higher fuel pressure regulator or bigger injectors, but it depends on your fuel system). Stock engine can hold up to 5-7psi of boost without any modifications to the engine or the head.
