Liz86mex
I'm getting new 18" wheels for my toyota but haven't done any mods to it...should I lower it first and see how it looks with its stock wheels ( I have a corolla S so it looks good already) or should I get the new wheels and what type of tires does anyone have any favs? Leighcm
I'm getting new 18" wheels for my toyota but haven't done any mods to it...should I lower it first and see how it looks with its stock wheels ( I have a corolla S so it looks good already) or should I get the new wheels and what type of tires does anyone have any favs? Just get the wheels. Lowering a Corolla really won't help you much....it'll ride poorly, and get fairly bouncy unless you spend big bucks on a complete new suspension plus some good quality lowering springs. The wheels, on the other hand, will fill out the wheel well quite nicely. Just don't go too wide as you might get some rubbing, and make sure you keep the right dimensions so your speedometer is still accurate. Here's something that will help: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/tire_size...lity/index.html As for where to get wheels: discounttiredirect.com & tirerack.com are great, and I think TRD USA might have some wheels for the Corolla. Have fun shopping!!
fidgits
as leigh said, stick with the 18's, you shouldnt need to lower it at all, and if you do, you can always do it later..

Tranic
I have a set of MSR 18" on my '05 Sport but i'm still going to get it lowered. Although they make the car look really nice, since the diameter of the whole wheel is still the same (so the speedo isn't off) there is still the big gap at the tops of the wheel wells. I'm looking into various brands of springs but haven't decided on which to go with but the average drop height seems to be around 1.5-1.7"
