frebri
I have a 2002 Camry LE V6. The fake wood plastic trim on the dash and door has delaminated in places, probably from the sun. The trim has split in half, the bottom half is still glued to the door but the top layer of plastic has separated starting to curl back and lift off. What is the best glue for re attaching the layers of trim. Any ideas, Thanks, frebri.
ianstaley
Yeah I would use a high impact epoxy very sparingly used, if you can take off the rest without damage, use a hair dryer to heat the plastic and glue and very very gently peal it back. try and remove the glue already on the back. It isn't good to try and stick glue on glue. Very short working time with the epoxy. Aim to get the piece back on and in place within 10 to 15 minutes at most. Another alternative is to make it out of real wood veneer and use a UV resistant glue and varnish. have fun. Ian
Kyled
I would try contact cement (very cheap, glue to both sides),plastic epoxy or fiberglass filler. Your Camry dash should be good as new!
Camryboy2002
Search on ebay for dash trim kits. They are OEM replacements for a reasonable price. Not worth aggravastion to try and fix old pieces
