buttonedbette
I have an old corolla (1991) who's driver's side door sticks open when it freezes. I have some other "door problems" to take care of, and I wondered if anyone can give me some advice. Someone suggested that I need to grease the latch on the inside. Here's what happens: When it's very cold (single digits and below) I can open the door from the outside, but when I try to close it from the inside, it just bounces back open. The latch won't click. After running for a long time (and warming up) or sitting in the sun, the latch will eventually release. Since I have some other issues (inside handle needs replacing, window crank needs oil, and I have to replace the driver's side mirror) I am thinking about taking the door apart. Can anyone offer suggestions? I've never done this before, and have heard it' not easy. Many thanks.

Also, if it's not a power window, it'll be much easier to take apart the entire door and reassemble than if you had power windows. Just try not to take the window off the track because that can be a pain. Taking off the door skin is not a big deal.
buttonedbette
Did you lube the lock? No. Not yet. Will that fix it?Also, if it's not a power window, it'll be much easier to take apart the entire door and reassemble than if you had power windows. I'd like to take the skin off and replace it ... that's what really needs replacing ... it's rusty. Many thanks for your help!
