I have an old corolla (1991) who's driver's side door sticks open when it freezes. I have some other "door problems" to take care of, and I wondered if anyone can give me some advice.
Someone suggested that I need to grease the latch on the inside. Here's what happens: When it's very cold (single digits and below) I can open the door from the outside, but when I try to close it from the inside, it just bounces back open. The latch won't click. After running for a long time (and warming up) or sitting in the sun, the latch will eventually release.
Since I have some other issues (inside handle needs replacing, window crank needs oil, and I have to replace the driver's side mirror) I am thinking about taking the door apart. Can anyone offer suggestions? I've never done this before, and have heard it' not easy.
Many thanks.
