MaxVas
Hello everyone, I'm looking for advice on servicing the rear drum brakes on a 2005 Camry (145k). Since buying it used (107k), the brakes have been soft. I replaced the brake fluid and the front brake pads and rotor, but that didn't help much. When I bought the new drum and shoes and started replacing they were in pretty good condition (compared to new), I replaced them a couple of weeks ago anyway and again didn't feel much improvement. The pedal is still soft and does not brake effectively. I noticed that the handbrake does not work properly (the car rolls even on a slight slope with the handbrake fully applied). At the same time, if you tighten it a couple of clicks, the car starts to brake much better. The auto adjuster worked when I installed it, but after replacing the rear brakes the handbrake worked at least a little, now almost nothing again.
