dougburnett
Hello. First time poster. I replaced my 2000 Sienna front driver door with a 2002 front door. Everything is working fine but I haven't plugged in the power window controls yet. 2000 and 2002 bodies are identical but apparently the door window motor is not. The motor is 2002 but my wires are 2000. 2002 motor has 5 wires. 2000 motor has 2. In my mind, it could be 1 of 2 things: Scenario 1: Toyota switched from a DC motor to an AC motor in 2002. Scenario 2: Toyota added temperature sensors in 2002. I'd like to just solder the + and - power wires together and ignore the other 3. If it's scenario 2, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be an issue. If it's scenario 1, I could burn out the motor, right? Thanks for any advice!
Toyota Owners Club
How did you manage to get on with the rewire? I would touch the terminals to see if there is any movement rather than solder until I know the connections to be correct The good thing is that it is unlikely to be controlled by CanBus at that age of vehicle
