DrDan
This noise started when it was out of warranty. It is my wife's car and I have a Lexus. I don't drive the Camry until I need to and then I adjust the seat. Everything works fine mechanically except for the noise I lubed the spiral gear under the adjustment mechanism with oil. It had a strange quirk when it somehow made the noises depending on the temperature outside. I don't exactly remember how it started, it was so many years ago. Since I don't drive the car and my wife keeps the seat at her adjustment, we just live with it. Any ideas how to silence the noise without taking the seat apart--which I will no attempt. Toyota Owners Club
My goodness! that sounds awful Its either one of two things, something is trapped underneath the seat and is getting dragged into the mechanism or the mechanism is dry and requires lubricating. Either way, it would necessitate removing the seat to resolve the issue
