  1. I have determined that the harness coming from the stock JBL amp contains 8 pairs of speaker wire. My matrix was a '7 speaker system'. I have found the primary RR, RL, FR, FL wires, that's 4 pairs. I'm guessing that at least one of the remaining pairs is for the subwoofer and two of the pairs is for the two tweeters on the dash. My question is: why do I have 4 pairs of wires left when 1 pair is presumably for the sub and 2 pairs for the tweeter. What is the last pair of wires for ? Is it possible that Toyota used two pairs to run a signal to the amp? I'm wondering this because they appea
  2. Hello all! I am new here and I just purchased a 2006 Toyota Matrix XRS from a private party. When I turn my headlights on I heard a weird noise coming from the right side of the car. Sounds like a electric type of fan or something. It goes away when I turn my lights off. Also, upon cold startup I hear a electronic rattling or some type or clicking noise for about a minute. Other than that I think the clutch is getting light/old. I was wondering what suggestions you guys have for a clutch considering I will be using the car for pleasure and commuting to school/work. I wont be taking it on a tra
  3. Hello: My son recently purchased a 2003 Toyota Matrix as his first car. Overall, the car was not in bad shape. There are a couple of items that need attention, but I feel he chose well. This may seem odd, but one thing I'd like to do for him is to find a way to touch-up his interior trim. If you look at the attached pictures, you can see that some of the silver trim in his car has become worn to where the black underneath now shows. Here's the question: is there a way to touch up these worn spots as opposed to replacing the entire blooming trim pieces? I'm wondering about somet
  4. Hey - first time toyota owner! I just got a 2009 Toyota Matrix, and it's awesome - second hand, and it's in great condition. One problem - it doesn't come with a cargo cover for the back trunk... Any ideas? I've tried a bunch of google searches but can't seem to find any specific to the Matrix itself! I'd prefer a rolling one but I'd be interested in even a flat one... Any help is appreciated, or even a link to maybe a previous forum discussion or suggestions? Thanks all!
  5. I have a 2011 Toyota Matrix XR, will post pictures if anyone wants. Only things I've done to it are: Magnaflow Muffler, Res delete, Sub/Amp wiring (spliced the speaker wire behind factory deck), tinted windows (5% back windows / sunstrip, 15% front and rear facing window). Was wondering if there is anything I can do it to it to get more power out of it? Ive heard about the spark plugs and the CAI / SRI stories but none on a matrix.. Anything I can do to make it an overall better (looking or performing, I don't mind) car?
  6. I'm looking to buy a new set of Tire of my Matrix 2003. I'm want to put the smallest size I can put to pay the lowest price. (it's an old car, I don't want to put the OEM size on it, it cost me over 800$ just for the rubber) Anyone can tell me any size, or refer me to a website ? Thanks
  7. Looking for an idiots guide with pictures if possible, so I can attempt my first repair on my Matrix and replace the front pads. Hope I don't need any special tools. Thanks in advance
