The malfunction indicator lamp went on. We checked the book it said to take vehicle to Toyota dealer. Local garage put car on scanner and said 1155 trouble code was the cause. Anybody know the meaning of the 1155 code? Thanks.

Whew! We lucked out. Dealer said it is the front hub and bearings and will be covered under warranty. The Warranty booklet is a little confusing. It states: Powertrain Warranty This warranty covers repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship of any component listed in the next column and supplied by Toyota, subject to the exceptions indicated under "What is Not Covered" on pages 11-12. Coverage is for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The info listed in the "next column" is listed below: Engine...blah blah Transmission and Transaxle...blah blah Front-Wheel-Drive System: Final drive housing and all internal parts, axle shafts, drive shafts, constant velocity joints, front hub and bearings, seals and gaskets. Rear-Wheel-Drive System...blah blah Well, the noise is really annoying...sounds like the vehicle is ready to be airborn! Hopefully, we'll have our Highlander back to it's old self again soon. :D

We have a 2001 and we were told that ours needs replacing because a bolt broke. Does that really mean the cat converter needs to be replaced? Can the bolt be replaced? We got a $1,200 quote from Midas. Probably should got to a Toyota dealer?

The place we bought the tires said the tires were fine. Should we believe them? We're taking it to the dealer to be checked out. I'm hoping this is still under warranty. We have a 2005 Highlander and the booklet says powertrain warranty is 60,000 miles/60 months, whichever comes first.

We were told that it could be the front wheel hub/bearings. We're having that angle checked out.

Our driver side power window was not working. All the other windows worked from the driver side control and all other window controls. We removed the driver side control mechanism (unplugged) and removed the three little screws from the back, but couldn't get the back completely off. When we plugged it back in, the window worked (at least we were able to get the window closed)----which is where it remains because we don't want to get it stuck open again. Should we have the entire mechanism replaced? New? Used? Should we go to a Toyota Dealer for this? Thanks....we are not mechanics, by any stretch of the imagination! But, if we could save a few dollars ordering the part and plugging it in again, we can handle that.
