  3. Little update on the thread here, replaced the links, which had torn rubber only 2 weeks after install hmmm. Regardless the noise going on my driveway is still there although its more of a pop noise now and will happen while driving too, sometimes randomly sometimes hitting a small bump or tuning. Additionally, after backing out of my driveway the other day my alignment pulls to either side seemingly at random while I am driving and braking, it almost sent me flying into oncoming traffic. And on top of that occasionally after pulling in / out of the driveway, my car makes a grinding noise coming from under my feet when turning the wheel. Goes away after the car moves again. Left it with the shop as it does not seem safe to drive. Welcoming any and all theories lol. I am at a total loss
  4. I plan on changing between 750 to 1000 miles on my brand new 2024 Venza Limited. Research on You Tube, there are many mechanics who recommend that. The video's will show why.
  5. Good looking camper, the fact you're towing it not carrying it should be okay for the truck but the only issue there I can think of is the braking capability with the extra unladen weight plus the load carried inside the camper
  6. Hi....welcome to the Club What a superb car to own, haven't seen one of those on the road for years Also, a great collection of Toyota's owned over the years, certainly qualifies you as a member of the club Good to have you onboard!

  8. Is there a market for partially used H2 fuel cards? Can these be sold or traded among car owners?
  9. Does my 1970 Toyota Corona Mk2 wagon qualify me for membership? I went on to own a 1972 Corolla de Luxe and a 1977 Celica GT Liftback: California GT. Maintaining and selling a 1984 Toyota Pick Up (2 years before HiLux) and a 2003 Camry has helped me maintain friendships at the parts counter.

  12. Anybody out there want to sell me their 'un-used' roof rails? I'd like to put a roof rack on mine and Toyota wants $250 for new... so painful!! Thx Brad
  13. I replaced my 19" wheels with 17" and put the corresponding tires (P245/70 R17 Yokohama Geolander A/T. Now I would like to install a 20mm - 40mm lift 'kit'. Any advise. There are two products - Polyurathane spacers - one by Rising Tuning and other Tema4x4. Both about $200. Some have put slightly higher on the front? to level it? I have a hitch with bike rack and would be more inclined to lift rear more. Thoughts? thx Brad
  14. Hello, So the drivers eat is worn out ( not cushiony anymore) and I'd love to replace it., Does anyone know where I might look to get one and is it possible to replace it with an Electric one. Many Thanks, Art Ottawa Ontario,
  15. I have the same problem on a 2024 RAV4 hybrid. Towed to dealer, started right up, can't find a problem with anything.
  16. Link to video! Title says it all really but I will provide more info. Car (2009 Toyota Matrix) recently has had most of the front end replaced lol. Subframe, control arms, ball joints, struts, axles, rack and pinion, wheel bearings, sway end links. The only untouched items are the tie rod ends and the sway bar / sway bar bushings. As well the brakes were done about 1 1/2 years ago, just the pads though and they still work fine. The most recent repair was the end links and I was getting a pop noise over curbs and turning but since replacing those it seems to be gone. Now the only issue I have at all with the car is pulling in and out of my driveway, I get a metal clunk. It happens when the wheel is turned and I hit the bump / curb of my driveway, the noise happens when one of the wheels / struts extends / retracts. So basically going over a bump with the wheels turned causes the noise. It happens on both sides of the car and can feel the vibration in my feet, and have felt it on the drivers side, passenger side and more to the centre of the car. It happens with or without the brakes engaged. Happens also when the front hits the driveway or the when the rear evens out if that makes sense. Recently turning left had caused the car to also make this same noise and feeling however after tightening the passenger side strut (which was lose) it went away while turning but still persists while going over my driveway. Additionally it has happened in other locations when I am turning on an incline, for example descending a parking garage or turning into a parking lot over a curb. Also my local mechanic who has been very nice to me is unable to locate the noise and has inspected everything to be in working order and besides the driveway issue the car seems and drives great. Just daily I get this noise. I am truly stumped here, it’s not impossible one of the many parts installed is defective but also there are a few more untouched areas. I am hesitant about getting rid of the car as it has minimal rust on the body and the engine is in great shape with less KM on it than the rest of the car (long story) Anyway any help is appreciated. Video attached.

  18. I have a 2009 Camry. The ac started to get warm. So i put some ac refrigerant in. It was cold for about a day or 2 then got warm again. I’ve added a couple cans a few times and the same thing happened. Anyone have the same issue? How else can I troubleshoot?
  19. Just took delivery of a new 2024 Tacoma Double Cab Sport automatic and all four tires had a pressure of 55-PSI. I checked the sticker inside the drivers door and it read 32-PSI in cold. Anyone know why my tires on a new Tacoma would have the Tire PSI set to 55? Is this standard or did someone in the factory just get confused? Thanks
  20. 1974 Hilux Long bed Pickup. Holley 4 barrel carb, Buick 231 short block and a 350 turbo trans. Loads of power she is really fast!! Bad news is the manual steering gearbox is totally shot. I cannot find a rebuild kit anywhere or a rebuilt gearbox. I am at a loss as to how to get her steering again. Any ideas what I could do? I am not afraid of modifying the steering if anyone knows what might work? Or slap a different front end on?
  21. My Highlander 2011 just got painted. The rubber strips on roof were in bad shape. The price to replace them was $350! I don't have a roof rack, so I imagine I don't need them. Do I? What purpose do they serve?
  22. I heard with CVT transmissions it is recommended or even essential to change the fluid every 30k miles or so. But on a conventional automatic with of that age and mileage I've heard more often than not as @Ayo and the dealership said, best not to change the fluid. Certainly check the level at times.

  25. Hi Everyone, I just bought my first Toyota. It is a 2024 TRD Off Road Premium. So far I really LOVE pretty much everything about it. I am going to let the dealer do every other service until warranty is expired. Wanted to join a few Toyota related forums and bond with like minded people. So, Here I am . . . and "Hey" to everyone. Glad to be here. I hope I can bring something to the table. Look forward to meeting many of you. ~Steve
  26. It seems that the dealer refused to change the transmission fluid due to safety concerns. A car expert on YouTube explained that if the transmission fluid hasn't been changed for a long time, it's better to leave it as is. There is a buildup of debris over the years that actually protects the clutch plate. Removing this debris can cause more harm than good. Keeping the original transmission oil in place may cause less harm since it's the manufacturer's original and only a minor issue.
  27. I have 2007 Highlander Limited (2006 model) with 130000mi on it. The vehicle was always serviced at the same dealership and is in perfect condition. I wish this vehicle to run another 130000mi. Recently, I asked them to change transmission fluid, and they rejected this service explaining that I might have gear shifting problems in the future. Can someone explain the reason the dealership does not want to mess with transmission? Thank you,
  28. HI, new here. I have a 2002 Tacoma SR5. just about perfect shape except....for the frame. Very bad shape. Friends tell me to get rid of it, but I'm resisting, hoping something can be done. Any advice?
  29. My 2012 Toyota Corolla S wouldn't start after coming out of the store. When I turn the key it clicks only once and the dash lights, interior lights, and headlights still come on. We've replaced the battery and cleaned the terminal cables, we've replaced the starter, replaced the starter relay, and replaced the engine crankshaft. My car still won't start even after replacing all of this. What else are we missing? Any help is appreciated.
