Pantharen
A close family friend bought a 2004 Solara in Abbotsford BC, Canada. About 2 weeks after he bought the car he started having problems, it pulled to one side, it shifts at random, the accellerator has a mind of it's own, (when "punched" it sits and thinks about it, and then lurches forward). My friend took the car to a non-toyota specialist, and it was revealed that the car was in an accident, apparently if a vehical is damaged in transport to the dealer, all they have to do is fix it without reporting it as damaged goods. From my own personal research I have found that from 1999 to 2005 Toyota Camry Solara's all of them pretty much have the same issues to which Toyota is doing nothing about. My friend had requested that toyota take the vehical back, they continued to ignore his requests, to which now he is started a lawsuit against the dealership. Please view my webpage http://www.toyota-solara.8m.com and email any comments to my email link on my webpage. Please feel free to read thru my page, it is still under construction, more information about the car is forth comming, I have compiled alot of data from around the internet. Thank you. dapqam
WOW. I have 73K on my 2000 Solara and only have had on majoe expense, an electric window motor failed. Will be very interested to see how your complaints are handled. I have thought ever since I bought a Camry and Solara of the same year (2000) that Toyota put a lot more thought into the Camry. Nice touches like outside temperature indicator on the Camry but not on the Solara.
