AJM0617
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I just bought a 1992 Land Cruiser today. I test drive it a few times and it was running like it should. But on my way home tonight, I notice that my speedometer was going crazy, my speedometer was on 100 mph and going up when I'm only going for about 40 mph? what could possibly wrong with it? when I'm on stop the Speedometer goes back to 0 mph but as soon as I start accelerating, the speedometer was already at 40 mph and kept on going up as I accelerate. I know I can still take this back to the dealership where I got it from but I would like to know what causes this Speedometer problem.. Please help me with this issue. I have ZERO experience with this vehicle.. PLEASE HELP.. It will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance.. Aron
Steve
Hi Aron Welcome to the Toyota Owners Club Sounds like the speedomter sender is faulty. Depending on if it is electric or by wire, both should be a relativly easy fix, but you may need to buy a new part.

So how would I know if I have electric or cable? where is my Speed sensor / cable located at? I mean, I know it's connected to my transmission somewhere but I don't know where and what to look for? please help. It's really annoying not knowing how fast/slow I'm going.. :(
