dactyl
I have a 98 Avalon and when I turn the starter key I hear a continuous clicking sound coming from the area behind my glove box area (passenger side under dash). The sound continues most of the time even after the car has started. It does not increase in tempo of sound with engine speed increase. I originally thought it might be a bearing or pulley but have changed my mind since the sound also comes with only the key turned on. Anyone had a similar sound or issue and what was/is it? RidgeRunner41
I too have had the similar noise. It is a relay located under the glove box, passenger side floor board. Take off the side panel, interior trim that covers the relays that are found close to being just under the glove box. You can then turn on the key and zero in on the faulty relay. Replace it and you should be good as new. AutoZone or any other parts store has them.
