Doug
Greetings Fellow Toyota Owners Club Members, I'm new to this site, but not new to Toyotas. My 2004 Camry SE (4cyl, 5spd manual - with 74K miles) now has a keyless wireless remote control entry fob that does not work. I've replaced the battery, but still no go. The dealer wants $138 + $85 to program a new one, what a rip-off. Fortunately, the second one (unused) that came with the car works fine so I'm not hurtin'. But does anyone have a cost effective solution to the non-operational one? Are they repairable? Is there lower cost OEM replacements out there? Can I program it? Is there a manual for that? I apologize if this question has come up before. I searched the site but could not fine anything on this particular topic. Thanks, Doug
Leighcm
Try this: http://www.geocities.com/toyota_speed2003 (look about halfway down the page for a post from mrlajoie 12-23-2004 10:29AM). If that doesn't work, yeah, you may have to spring for a new one.
