Weston Kirby

There are 2 shift cables but only the one for 2nd, 4th and Reverse needs to be repaired and I have both cables completely loose on both ends but on the firewall there's a seal that you pop out which makes it look like you should be able to just slide the cable through the engine bay and that should be all you need to do but apparently there is something else in there under the dash that you have to get to and i have the entire dash from the stereo down completely ripped apart and just need to know if im doing this the right way and what else i have to do from here if any one knows what im talking about haha cause you can find ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on this no matter where you look or go.
