in the cup holder of the front console.

I drive an '08 Prius and accidentally left my key in the car; got out and locked the door inside as I was shutting the door. This time it locked. Usually, it will beep at me and won't lock if I've left the key in the car. I thought maybe the battery was dead in the key, but, it works fine to open the car or start the engine. Any suggestions?

I drive an '08 Prius and the news has me nervous. I'd like to have access to the reports that have been made by drivers who experienced unwanted acceleration. What were the situations when it happened? Could throwing the keys out the window make any difference in the situation? Ideas????
