I just rolled to 200,000 miles this week Monday morning in my 2003 Corolla. This is the greatest car ever, no repairs at all. Still getting 40 mpg on the highway! I will buy another when this one decides to give up, got more than my moneys worth.

I have a 2003 corolla 5 speed and I average 40 MPG. I drive mostly freeway miles over long distances which helps. I added a high flow K&N air filter, premium spark plugs, and the best thing you can do is buy high quality tires. Anything with an 80 or 90 thousand mile warranty will get you better milage, you can overinflate a little but be careful if you drive in frequent rain or snow. I also have used only synthetic oil since the day I bought the car (Mobil 1 extended life). I currently have 185,000 miles on the car and it still gets this great milage.
