According to most Toyota literature regarding the auto-dimming mirror, it is available, or can be added as an accessory, only on the Avalon models w. sun roof. This is not quite correct, it can be installed on any Avalon that has a switchable front dome lite. i.e., one which has a 3-postion switch controlling the dome lite. I just had a mirror installed on my sun-roofless '07 XL. If you decide to have one put in, shop the internet for your best deal. They're about $200 from most dealers, but I found one for $120, including shipping. Make sure the wiring kit is included. The mirror incorporates auto-dimming, a compass and a garage door opener. Has anyone installed a lip spoiler on an '05-'07 Avalon and had difficulty matching the hole location on the template w. the stud locations on the spoiler? I ordered a spoiler (new) and install. kit and could not match the hole locations on the plastic template w. the hold down and alignment studs on the spoiler. I followed the directions in the install. kit carefully. The three center holes and the rh hold down stud location were OK, but the lh stud was"off" by about 1/4". No amount of repositioning of the template seemed to bring everything into alighment. Fortunately, I discovered this before I had drilled any holes. Thanks. Bob

FYI I just had a set of body side mouldings installed on my '07 Avalon. I had tried, sans success, to buy them from the dealer, but they've been unavailable from the beginning. If anyone is interested, I purchased mine from Johnny K Design in Silverdale, Washington, johnnyk@wavecable.com, 360-265-0975. My cost, installed was $254.

At least some of you may be aware that Toy. stopped the sale of door side mouldings for the Avalon and, perhaps, for other models, as well. There is, or was, a prob. w. the adhesive. Does anyone have definitive info. re there're being sold again? Thanks. Bob Russell

Has anyone had any adverse effects (check engine light?) from installing after-market mufflers on a late model Avalon?
