Being able to listen to the music that I choose is important to me. With my 4Runners, I was able to play MP3 files from a thumb drive. In my 2023 Tacoma, the system doesn't work. Music will play but the system doesn't let you choose. The system chooses FOR you.
I spoke to the dealer then called Toyota. There is no fix and Toyota has no plans to fix it, which seems particularly ridiculous since it's probably a simple software issue. If I hadn't invested so much in accessories, I would sell the truck.
To many drivers, this may be a non-issue. But if the ability to choose the music you want to listen to is important, I recommend that you find another truck to buy. Additionally, you should consider this: If they won't correct the existing problem, why would the system in the 2024 models be any different?
