I have not upgraded my navigation since I live in a small town in Oregon and have no problems with it. At least around here. But twice now when I have gone up to Portland the navigation has just stopped giving me directions when I get near the big city (and that's where I need it!). It shows the car on the map and the road I'm traveling on, but all voice directions stop completely and there isn't any advance notice of where to turn. The local dealer said the navigation upgrade shouldn't have anything to do with that since it only adds new roads and such. He suggested I disconnect the battery and see if that didn't reset it. What a nightmare! I did and it took hours to get everything on the display to work properly again. Yet, next time I drove to Portland, the navigation died on me again. I don't really want to pay nearly $200 for the upgrade and find out it didn't fix this problem, but I have no idea what else to do. Anyone have any thoughts?
