I at least need to get the new seal installed, but it is very difficult with it being in the car. Im almost certain it was meant to come off so the seal could ve pressed in im not sure

Hello everyone, ive been trying to replace my driver side outputshaft seal on my 2001 avalon a541e and cannot get the new one in from in the car. If i could remove the retainer housing it would be much easier to press it in. The problem is im afraid to take the housing off because im not sure what else will come off and i cannot afford to mess the transmission. If anyone has done this before and can let me know if its ok to take off and easy enough to put back in that would be much appreciated! thanks you
