I have a 2001 Toyota 4 runner , recently the air bag warning light came on , I took it to two shops to have it scanned , both had snap on scanners and said the couldn't scan it because the scanner said that you needed an adapter to connect to the under hood diag port and they didn't have it so i bought one and took it back to them. N ow they're telling me it wont give them any codes . I tried a hard reset and it didn't work light is still on . I checked all my connectors under the seats all seem fine ,anybody have any ideas as to what could be the problem? TIA

Can anyone tell me why the D on my shift indicator on the dash is flashing ? it has 228000, miles on it and i just changed the fluid and filter last week , it shifts fine , nice and smooth as always . I drove it about a hundred miles today without any problems. I stopped for lunch ,shut it off ,sat for about a half an hour , when I started it back up backed out and out it in drive the D started flashing and hasn"t stopped . I got home and checked the fluid it was about a half quart low so i topped it off , light was still blinking so I disconnected the battery for about a half an hour , light still blinking! I have Toyota factory service manuals but it does not say anything about this. CAN anyone help me with this?
