  1. Hi again, Still learning about my new-to-me '21 Avalon Hybrid Limited. Information I've seen about the navigation system talks about the Dynamic Navigation System. Apparently, this is a subscription for map updates, but I can't tell how long it lasts. The Map Data screen is supposed to show an expiration date, but mine just says "Update" and when I click that it says to see my dealer. I would like to have the latest map information. Is there an over-the-air subscription renewal, or do I have to go to the dealer? Are there other options?
  2. New owner of a '21 Avalon Hybrid. I'm curious about the differences between Normal and Eco modes. The owner's manual says "Use Eco drive mode to help achieve low fuel consumption during trips that involve frequent accelerating." I'm wondering whether it somehow affects charging the battery or if there is some other reason you wouldn't want to use ECO in extended highway driving situations. We'll be heading out on a road trip soon and while I'm interested in getting the best mpg, I don't want to cause problems by using the wrong mode.
  3. Just acquired my third Toyota. First was an '82 Supra, bought new, which I dearly loved. My ego traded that one for an '84 BMW 633 CSi, but the Supra was a superior car. My next one was an '07 FJ Cruiser (hence the username which I also use on an FJ forum). I ordered it new and still drive it daily. I'll give it up when one of us dies! Couple of weeks ago we traded our '13 Cadillac XTS for a '21 Avalon Hybrid Limited. I've been interested in hybrids, but this was the first one that seemed to fit our wants/needs. So far, I love it. I'll be asking some questions about best practices with it, as I'm a car guy and like to know as much as possible. Glad I found this forum!
