Hi,
I have a 2018 Toyota Corolla (~48k miles), for the last 1k mile the car makes a crackling sound. This is what I've noted about the noise (attached recording also).
- It makes noise mostly when I am turning the steering wheel and going over a minor or major bump in the road. Initially I thought it's just over speed bumps but that's not always.
- To the best of my understanding it is coming from the front side.
- I used WD-40 (grease spray) as suggested in some of the videos on the strut etc but that did not help at all.
Is it possible it is coming from the steering wheel ?
The car has always been serviced before the stipulated timing interval, from OBD2 I don't see any errors.
Can anyone suggest something to identify what's going on ? The mechanics in my area are asking for 120 bucks just for inspection.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
