I'm already running Castrol Semi-synthetic 5w30. That's what my dealer puts in. I don't think the car has an oiling problem, it just sounds like lifter wear.

I've got 70,000 miles on the car. I'm using the factory recommended oil. It only happens when it is below 40 deg f. I'm going to pull the valve cover in a couple of weeks and take a look. It's time to replace the spark plugs anyway and do some preventitive maintence and cleaning.

My beloved Echo's lifters have begun chattering in cold weather at startup. Are these adjustable? Or do I need to eventually replace the lifters?
