abcdefz
Posted this under another title elsewhere, I have trouble believing I'm the only one who's AC is having this problem... The AC evaporator enclosure is either leaking through a crack, or the enclosure itself is SO COLD, that it has ITS OWN condensation. At any rate, I've got an AC system that drips water into the footwell on the driver's side, the footwell on the passenger's side, and I'm getting water puddling in my cabin. Any thoughts where to maybe try to FIND a pinhole leak, or crack in the enclosure? ANYONE? ANYONE? ANYONE? :-)
meat puppet
I had a similar issue with another make of car. There is a small tube from the AC evaporator box area that drains the condensation outside the car in the area near the passenger side foot well. I had read somewhere that this tube may get clogged, sometimes by spiders web when they crawl up in there (who knows?). I had to get under the car, find the tube and run a thin piece of flexible wire up the tube far enough to unblock the clog, which it did, then everything drained fine. Hopefully it's that easy for you to fix, good luck.
abcdefz
Yes, I was surprised because the tube was dripping, and it was dripping at arate that seemed kinda' normal, but it did turn out to be clogged up inside thevery top of the drain tube, and I think that it was more a bit of theinsulation that keeps the evaporator from jiggling and banging around insidethe enclosure than anything like dirt or dust. That insulation does gobad over time, and sheds some material. (I got all this information onlyafter I finally got my mechanic friend to look at it. It was diagnosedand repaired in twenty minutes) When that was cleared out, I dropped about a pint of water on the floor, andafter that, the drain tube practically RUNS water, not drips it. It appearsto be THAT efficient. Also, since this car was bought used, and I had noexperience with Camry, I noticed that the climate control immediately becamemore accurate, the compressor cycled more, and the temperature dial was moreuseful. And, since I could run the ac constantly, the carpet was dried out effectivelyby the dryer air.
